Missionary Committeeman minutes: 

Called Meeting – April 24, 2018

A special called meeting of the BMA of Arkansas Missionary Committee was held Tuesday, April 24, 2018 at Chanel Valley Baptist Church located in the western part of Little Rock. The purpose of the meeting was to consider the placing of a bi-vocational Hispanic missionary to work in that area. After a wonderful song led by Gary Gipson accompanied by Brian Shepherd on the piano to open the meeting, Brother Brian Shepherd delivered a wonderful devotional on the subject ‘What do you want” taken from Nehemiah,Chapter 2.  

David Inzer then recognized Paul White, Executive Director of Arkansas State Missions, who then recognized Michael Hight, BMA of Arkansas Hispanic Coordinator, to present the candidate. 

Brother White then presented a recommendation from the advisory committee and himself concerning the establishing of a new church plant in West Little Rock and that Ruben Isturiz stand as a candidate to serve as a state sponsored bi-vocational missionary in that area.  It was confirmed that Chenal Valley Baptist Church had agreed to serve as the sponsoring (mother) church. After hearing from Ruben and his wife, Brother David Inzer called for the will of the committeemen. There was a motion and second and Brother Isturiz was elected. Brother Ruben’s official starting date will be May 1, 2018.  Please remember to pray for him and his family as they begin this new and exciting work.  

In closing, Brother White expressed his sincere gratitude to those who were in attendance easily surpassing our 15 churches required for a quorum.

BMA AR Minute Books



The BMA of AR 2017 annual session minute books have been compiled and are currently being printed.  They should be mailed by mid-April to each church.  You may download a full copy of the minute book here in PDF format.  This book records the proceedings of the meeting as well as the reports from each state group.  The book also contains a history of the meetings including past officers and locations/dates of each meeting.
